Dana at Student Cooperator Meet 2005

Dana participated in the Work & Travel USA program in 2005, 2006, 2008 and she is participating again now in 2009.

In 2007 she traveled to the Lake Baikal in Siberia. Besides, she’s been our Student Cooperator since 2005. There’s no doubt that she is a very experienced Worktraveller.

So what Second Job wisdom you can gain from her?

Hi,

I have been to New Jersey state, small village Stone Harbor. It is situated close to Atlantic City.
This is a summer resort, it means beach, hotels, restaurants, sports club etc. I work in a fine dining restaurant as a server. I am working 4 days a week and I am also working as a housekeeper. This year we have less work because of tourists, they are probably saving money and don’t go for holiday. So it is not so busy lake last years.

I started looking for another job two days after I arrived. I found it in one day. It was easy.

Me and my friend were just going around all the restaurants, hotels, shops, fast foods etc. and just asking for part time job. They usually gave us to fill the application. It is very good to have some cell phone, because they can contact us. The most managers said us, that we can ask again at the beginning of August. American students are leaving.

Good luck everybody.
