Description of Business: Campground

Description of Area: Located on the Yellowstone River, near the Yellowstone National Park, with Old Faithful geyser, Bears, Elk, and more. This rural area is great for hiking, climbing, biking and enjoying the outdoors. The fishing is terrific. There are a lot of outdoor activities and limited shopping is available in town. It is a beautiful mountain area. The facilities of the resort are available for staff as well. You will have the use of a swimming pool. Night life is limited in this area and you will need to be aware of that. The resort provides a shuttle service to the supermarket center for groceries and supplies you might need.

Travel Time to the job site, example: You can fly to New York and ride a bus for 40 hours or fly to Denver and ride a bus for about 14 hours. You can also fly on to Billings, Montana or Bozeman, Montana. We will pick you up.

Job Details

Work Description: Housekeeper – works on the campground cleaning bathhouses, showers and cabins. Is responsible for making sure restrooms facilities at the property are sparkling clean. Some other light maintenance jobs are available. It has been our experience that it is better to wait until a student arrives and determine at that time which position best suits the student. Job interest, previous work experiences and language skills are indicators as to where the student will be most happy and productive. Quite often we like to assign a student to two different areas so there is variety to their work experience. If, however, a student indicates a preference we will certainly try and accommodate his or her desire.

Salary and Bonuses: The starting wage rate is $7.50 per hour for all jobs except cabin cleaning. $4.00 per cabin cleaned, the potential to earn more per hour is based on your willingness to work efficiently and smart. A year-end bonus of $3.00 per day worked is available if you fulfill your commitment.

Work Hours: Your workweek over the entire summer will average 40 hours per week. Minimum of 6 day week, day starting at 8:30 am and ending in the afternoon after tasks are completed for the day.

NOTE: Good English skill, able to read, write and speak fluently.

Accommodation Cost: $6.00 per day

Accommodation Description: Your housing is a three bedroom mobile home located on the campground, with cooking facilities. No overnight guests without prior arrangements with employer.

Requirements: Conversational English, able to understand and follow instructions, attention to detail, motivated by guest satisfaction.

Uniform/Dress Code: Uniform shirt will be provided. You will need clean neat shorts or pants, comfortable shoes. No excessively dyed hair, body piercing, tongue piercing, tattoos or excessively baggy pants.

      Hello Marcus, if you are a full-time university/college student, simply apply for this program: http://www.apex-foundation.org/work-and-travel-usa-apuwtfs/ The best time to apply is in October. Keep in mind though, as it’s explained in the program description, that being placed in or near Yellowstone is considered your preference, and there is no guarantee that your preference will be met! It’s simply impossible to guarantee that any of the employers in the area will select your application.
