Overview

Description of Business: The hotel has hosted international students for many years and it has a very warm atmosphere. Your employer asks that you are ready to accept duties and responsibilities of the job.

Description of Area: The hotel is located on Cape Cod, a resort/beach area. It is in a very quiet and beautiful part of the Cape. Other InterExchange students will be at some of the nearby inns. You can also take the ferry to the resort islands of Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.

Travel Time to the job site, example: 6 hours from New York by bus. Cost $50.00.

Job Details

Work Description: Housekeeping (cleaning rooms and bathrooms, making beds, changing towels and linens, laundry, etc.). You should be prepared and willing to expand into all duties as coordinators/attendants.

Salary and Bonuses: $10.50 per hour. Overtime after 40 hours per week.

Work Hours: On average, 6 hours per day, 6 days per week.

Housing

Accommodation Cost: $100.00 per week

Accommodation Description: Housing will be provided for $100.00 per week. Your employer will arrange it so that your housing costs will be deducted weekly from your paycheck. You will be living on site with 2 other students, and you will share a room with one other student. You will be responsible for your own meals, and will have access to a kitchenette unit on site.

Standard requirements for the Work Travel USA program sponsored by InterExchange, Inc. are:

  • Conversational English
  • Minimum placement duration 12 weeks (or for summer, until Labor Day, whichever is longer)
  • Minimum placement is 2.5 months in national parks

Uniform/Dress Code: You will need to supply your own casual, neat pants, shorts, or jeans. You should bring ankle socks, sneakers and/or low flat closed shoes. You must maintain a neat appearance. Please note that smoking is not allowed. No visible body piercing or tattoos are allowed.
