Overview

Description of Business: This amusement park is California’s oldest and is a State Historic Landmark. It is home to two National Historic Landmarks: a carousel and a famous roller coaster. From the heart-pounding adrenaline rush of the roller coaster to the family fun of a water ride, everyone has a great time at the park. The park also has a large arcade and bowling alley.

Description of Area: This amusement park is located on the beautiful coastal beach, about 70 miles from  San Francisco. There is a town near the park with restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, etc. In your free time you can enjoy surfing, relaxing on the beach, hiking, playing volleyball and exploring the town.

Job Details

Work Description: You will be working at an amusement park. You will be assigned a positron based upon the needs of your employer at the time of your arrival. You should be prepared to work in any of the following positions, as your employer will place you wherever they need you: Ride Operators, Game Operators, Food Service Operators, Arcade Operators, Merchandise Cashier or Parking Lot Attendant.

Salary and Bonuses: $8.25 per hour

Work Hours: You will usually work 6 hours per day, 6 days per week. You will be guaranteed 32 hours of work per week. Park is only open until September 7th. Please contact InterExchange in mid-August if you need work after this date.

Housing

Accommodation Cost: $60.00 per week

Accommodation Description: Usually you will be sharing a room with 3-4 other students. Ford apartments are available for couples. The apartments have a kitchen and bathroom. You will be responsible for your own meals. You will be living in a housing complex with international students living in the apartments around you.

Security deposit: If you select this employer as your preferred placement, and InterExchange, Inc. sends you a Job Placement for this employer, you will be required to pay $120.00 directly to this employer by May 1st to secure your job.

Standard requirements for the Work Travel USA program sponsored by InterExchange, Inc. are:

  • Conversational English
  • Minimum placement duration 12 weeks (or for summer, until Labor Day, whichever is longer)
  • Minimum placement is 2.5 months in national parks

Uniform/Dress Code: You will be required to wear a uniform, which will be provided. Women may wear up to three earrings per ear. Men may wear one earring only. Men and women may not wear pierced jewelry on any other visible areas of the body, including the tongue. Men’s hair should be neatly trimmed on the sides and in the back, and may extend downward on the back of the head to the middle of the collar. No ponytails are allowed for men. Tattoos are not permitted if visible when wearing a company issued uniform. You may not cover tattoos with bandages or make-up.
