New application system

New application system

On Saturday we spent about 6 hours with our lead database programmer over our new web-based program application.

The system will be available to applicants from all countries, who will be able to select which program is available to them, depending which country they are from and which visa they need where.

This will allow our community of Student Cooperators to engage friends from all over the world, for instance via Facebook.

Imagine having one applicant from Germany, one from China and one from Peru :-)

This¬† global reach will be a nice addition to putting up posters at your school, as it will make it easier for you to collect enough points for free participation. And yes,¬† it will also increase the “international-ness” of being a Student Cooperator, which we find rather exciting.

Corporate cooperators, such as student associations, travel agencies, language schools, etc. will be able to see the results of their members, employees and branch offices. Initially, only one layer below will be available.

Program providers on the other hand, will be able to see in real-time how is the interest in their program shaping up and how many applicants have from any country and any cooperator at a given moment.

Unlike the old system, this one will be much more easily extensible, which will allow adding new exciting work-travel programs more quickly.

This will be a very tough summer indeed..

Questions? Ask below :-) In English, please.
