An amusement park in the USA where Work and Travel USA students work

Enjoy your summer here

The first round of experimental Skype interviews were a resounding success! Students interviewed this Wednesday by a manager from a small amusement park in the USA have been issued their Job Placements by Thursday evening!

Next round of the interviews will take place on Wednesday for the Sun Valley resort. If you are a student and want to try to get hired by the legendary Sun Valley Resort, go ahead and apply super quickly!

The two days from an interview to delivering the job placement are pretty much a record. It shows just what a great relief it is for the employers to be able to evaluate the students’ English and get some idea about who they are.

The most stressful problem with hiring unknown people from half-way around the world away is that the employer has no idea whatsoever who they are, how good is their English and therefore in which positions they could be used.

With the Skype interview, the manager was able to imagine where to place a student before she was even done with the interview. Which means she knew it in late March. Some three months before the students arrive!

Naturally, the students for many of whom this is their first trip to a distant country combined with working there, also feel more at ease after they talked with the person who will be their manager in that unknown far-away place.

So let’s see how the Sun Valley interviews will go.
