Three Work and Travel USA students at Niagara Falls

Pavlina - first on the left

Pavlina, our two-times Work Travel USA participant and a Student Cooperator, returned from the USA in early October, and on November 28th she left for the Paid Work Experience UK Level 1 program.

We’ve made a deal that Pavlina would get a 10 per cent discount from the program fee, in exchange for reporting about her experience from the program. Internet connection permitting, Pavlina will write about once a week and include photos.

She’s been placed in a traditional English family-run inn about 30 miles north of London, where she will stay till March. [scroll down for map]

You can contact Pavlina through the comments under each of the posts, or via our Facebook page.

Pavlina spent her 2009 summer in the USA working in the Telemark Resort in Wisconsin and the 2010 summer in Christmas Island Resort in New Hampshire. Even though her English is excellent and she has relevant experience, she decided against the Work Experience Level 2 program simply because she could stay long enough.

So enjoy the stories and don’t forget to write to Pavlina in the comments and on our Facebook wall :-)

The Level 1 program is for 3 months to 1 year, available even for non-students and can start at any time. It places students in “back of house” positions, such as houskeeping and kitchen help, i.e. in positions where the don’t serve customers. The Level 2 program is for 6 months to 1 year and places students as waiters, receptionists etc., i.e. “front of house” positions.
