Overview

Description of Business: This resort is a complete family resort located on the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee waterfront. Its well maintained spacious grounds and comfortable accommodations provide the perfect vacation setting – relaxing and fun in any season. The resort offers 45 rooms with lakefront views. Each unit has individually controlled heat, air conditioning, cable TV, and in-room phones. The resort has an indoor heated pool and whirlpool, a steak house and tavern, and row boats and paddleboats available free of charge.

Description of Area: The resort is located on Lake Winnipesaukee in central New Hampshire. It is a beautiful area with lakes, forests, hills, and mountains. It can be very warm during the day, but sometimes at night it gets colder. There are shopping, restaurants, entertainment nearby, and many opportunities for hiking, biking, water sports, and enjoying the outdoors.

Job Details

Work Description: You will be assigned a position based upon the needs of your employer at the time of your arrival. Your primary job will be housekeeping (may include, but is not limited to, doing laundry, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, changing sheets, making beds). You should also be prepared to work in the other areas of the resort, including kitchen help and dishwashing, maintenance, and perhaps waitstaff. You must be flexible.

Salary and Bonuses: $7.50 per hour. Bonuses may be available if you work hard, do a good job, and complete your work commitment.

Work Hours: You will be working approximately 35-40 hours per week. You will work at the resort in the morning and your employer has arranged additional work hours for you at a nearby steakhouse for the afternoon and/or evening. There may be additional options for afternoon work that your employer will assist you with as well.

Housing

Accommodation Cost: $35.00 per week

Accommodation Description: You should expect to share your room. Bathrooms will also be shared. You will have access to a kitchen and community room with a television. Linens and towels will be provided and changed weekly. There is a laundromat nearby to wash personal items. You will be responsible for providing your own meals. Bicycles will be provided for you to use to get around town.

Security deposit: You will need to pay a $35.00 housing deposit upon arrival. This deposit will be returned to you at the end of the season provided that you leave your accommodations in good condition and stay through your commitment.

  • Minimum placement duration 12 weeks (or for summer, until Labor Day, whichever is longer)
  • Minimum placement is 2.5 months in national parks

Uniform/Dress Code: You should always maintain a neat and clean appearance on the job. Shirts will be provided. Casual shorts are allowed, jeans are not allowed while working. Body piercing must be removed for work.
